Development Training Institute (OCDTI)/
Extended Studies and the
College of Urban and Public Affairs
nnually, PSU's
Extended Studies provides professional development and training programs to more
than 25,000 students and recently received the Community First Award for Outstanding
Training of HUD staff. PSU is a nationally recognized urban university with a deep
commitment to community service. The College of Urban and Public Affairs' graduate
programs are highly regarded. The School of Urban Studies and Planning offers a community
development undergraduate major, one of three in the nation. It also provides a community
development emphasis within the master's and doctoral programs.
The Communitas Group
nonprofit
portfolio management company that operates a CDC, provides affordable housing and
community economic development training in Washington, and operates a support center for
other nonprofits. The Communitas Group is committed to building community one individual
at a time. In the pursuance of this mission, Communitas provides capacity building
services to professionals and communities, develops community infrastructure through
physical and intellectual investment, and actively collaborates with organizations
nationally and internationally to further the growth and development of communities.
